About the course
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is a nondestructive testing (NDT) method of inspecting materials for flaws using soundwaves with frequencies higher than humans can hear.
During the classroom training students will learn the requirements to become Qualified & Certified to perform Ultrasonic Testing. The course covers UT equipment, operation, standardization, straight beam calibration, calibration blocks, discontinuity detection and classification (laminations, corrosion, erosion, & thickness). Classroom and Practical application ensure that all students complete the course with the complete understanding of the basic principles of Ultrasonic Testing.
Ultrasonic Testing Level I (UT) course allows students who wish to obtain the required 40 hours of classroom training in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and CP-189. The curriculum encompasses the body of knowledge outlined in CP-105 in addition to hands on training.
